Having spent a couple of
nights at El Mezteno we popped around the next headland and into the large bay
of Caleta Partida, the anchorage I had seen on my climb the previous day, with
only a couple of boats in the whole anchorage there was no shortage of places
to choose for anchoring to provide the best protection against the northerly
day time winds and the southern nighttime winds. Again we explored the beaches
and kayaked finding a part of a tortoise shell. A local fisherman visited us
and sold us some of his fresh catch and requested shampoo and a sewing needle –
either he was proud of his appearance or he had a woman to please back at his
camp. Jude turned the fish into a beautiful sushi lunch.
